Lunarium Controls
Keyboard, mouse, and gamepad bindings for Ave's swordplay, Lune commands, and isometric camera.
Lunarium ships July 29, 2026 on Steam with full controller support, rebindable actions, and PlayStation button prompt options. The developer has not published a final public binding chart as of preview builds, but event demos and Steam community feedback confirm a standard action-RPG layout. This guide documents the inferred default mappings so you can jump in quickly, then tune settings for parry consistency and isometric camera comfort.
Always verify bindings in Settings → Controls after patches. Demo revisions already adjusted combat feel and added anti-misclick protection for tutorial pop-ups.
Keyboard and mouse (PC default)
These bindings match typical isometric action RPG demos and Steam discussion reports. Treat them as practical defaults until official documentation updates.
| Action | Default key |
|---|---|
| Move | W A S D |
| Camera rotate / nudge | Hold Middle Mouse or edge scroll |
| Light attack | Left Mouse Button |
| Heavy attack | Right Mouse Button |
| Parry / deflect | E or Left Shift |
| Dodge / roll | Space |
| Interact (bench, door, item) | F |
| Lune command / resonance skill | Q |
| Lock-on toggle | Tab (optional; can disable auto lock-on) |
| Use Prayer (heal) | R |
| Sprint | Left Shift (when not mapped to parry) |
| Pause / menu | Escape |
Mouse notes: Lunarium’s combat rewards precise facing. Click-to-move is not the primary scheme — WASD with mouse-directed attacks is. If parry feels late on keyboard, try moving parry to a mouse side button or Left Shift with dodge on Space only.
Controller (Xbox layout)
| Action | Xbox button |
|---|---|
| Move | Left stick |
| Camera | Right stick (supports directional nudge) |
| Light attack | X |
| Heavy attack | Y |
| Parry | LB |
| Dodge | B |
| Interact | A |
| Lune / resonance | RB |
| Heal (Prayer) | D-pad Up |
| Lock-on | Right stick click |
| Menu | Start |
PlayStation prompts can be enabled in settings. Vibration strength is adjustable — useful for parry feedback without noise during long sessions.
Combat inputs that matter most
Three inputs define success more than the rest:
- Parry — Primary defense. Buffer slightly early rather than late; whiffs punish harder than failed dodges in many encounters. Practice in the Forgotten Forest before castle vertical fights (Combat, Parry & Dodge).
- Dodge — Secondary escape for unblockable sweeps or multi-hit strings. Does not replace parry mastery; saves Prayers when used sparingly.
- Lune command (Q / RB) — Spends or builds Resonance System effects. Delayed inputs lose stagger windows on bosses.
Camera and lock-on options
The isometric view is a readability tool. Recommended settings from preview players:
- Enable right-stick camera nudge to peek around corners in the Ruined Castle.
- Consider disabling automatic lock-on if the camera snaps unpredictably during multi-enemy rooms.
- Increase dialogue text speed if mid-combat tutorials feel intrusive — the studio added safeguards, but pacing is personal.
Menus and bench management
At benches you manage cloaks, embroidery, and skill points:
- Navigate with stick or WASD + confirm.
- Cloak presets swap entire charm layouts — see Cloak System.
- Skill tree UI separates Ave and Lune nodes — Skill Tree Guide.
Temple upgrades use the same confirm/cancel scheme as benches once you unlock the sanctuary in Temple Upgrades.
Rebinding tips
- Put parry on the most comfortable finger — index for mouse, bumper for controller.
- Keep heal reachable without moving from movement keys; mis-presses cost runs.
- Do not stack parry and sprint on the same key unless intentional.
- Export mental notes, not files — Lunarium does not yet advertise cloud binding sync.
Accessibility considerations
Lunarium is animation-timing heavy. Lower difficulty is not advertised; instead, adjust controls until parry inputs feel consistent. Some players report better results at stable 60 FPS with vsync off on mid-tier GPUs listed in Steam requirements (GTX 1050 Ti minimum).
