Lunarium Combat Guides Collection
Parry-first defense, Focus spending, and Resonance synergy — every combat mechanic guide linked here.
Lunarium rewards reaction speed over passive rolling. Ave fights on the front line while Lune amplifies openings through shared Resonance Points — but neither role works if you skip the fundamentals. This collection hub gathers every combat-focused guide on lunarium.wiki so you can drill parry timing, Focus generation, and coordinated finishers without hunting through the full guides index.
Combat is the spine of Lunarium Game Studio’s hand-drawn isometric ARPG. Press coverage from PAX East 2026 and the July 2026 release date trailer consistently highlight parry-first swordplay closer to Sekiro than dodge-spam soulslikes. Whether you are preparing for launch day or refining a post-release run, start with the guides below in the recommended order.
Core combat guides
Combat, Parry & Dodge
The definitive guide to Ave’s defensive toolkit. Learn telegraph reading, when to parry versus dodge, punish windows after successful deflects, and how stamina interacts with Prayers when you misread an attack. PAX East previews described the demo finale boss as demanding tight parry discipline — this page teaches the habits that transfer to retail encounters.
Focus System
Focus is Ave’s offensive meter. Charged Attacks generate Focus; skills like Stellar Thrust spend it for burst damage. The developer reworked Focus during the public demo — charged attacks now build the meter, and Stellar Thrust consumes an additional Focus point. Read this guide before investing skill points in heavy-attack nodes.
Resonance System
Resonance Points are the shared meter Ave and Lune build together. Weaken debuffs soften armored enemies; coordinated attacks and execution finishers consume the meter for massive damage. Castle and archipelago bosses effectively require resonance literacy — skipping this guide turns multi-minute attrition fights into Prayer bankruptcy.
How these systems connect
Combat in Lunarium is a loop, not three isolated meters:
- Parry or dodge an incoming attack (Combat Guide)
- Punish during stagger with light combos or Charged Attacks (Focus System)
- Spend Resonance on weaken during super-armor phases, then execution on kneel animations (Resonance System)
- Return to bench if Prayers run low — see Getting Started for the save loop
Embroidery charms and Cloak presets modify this loop — parry recovery, resonance on deflect, and weaken duration extensions live in the Build Progression collection. Boss-specific pattern notes sit in the World & Walkthrough collection and the dedicated Boss Guide.
Recommended study order
| Step | Guide | Time estimate |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Controls | 10 minutes |
| 2 | Combat, Parry & Dodge | 20 minutes |
| 3 | Focus System | 15 minutes |
| 4 | Resonance System | 20 minutes |
| 5 | Practice in Forgotten Forest | 30+ minutes |
Do not enter the Ruined Castle without completing steps 2–4. Vertical arenas punish panic rolling, and elite knights share animation tells with forest mobs — use the forest as your training ground.
Combat and build synergy
Defense alone does not kill bosses. Pair combat guides with:
- Early game build — day-one Embroidery and Cloak presets
- Resonance reference — quick lookup during fights
- Ave guide — sword technique skill tree priorities
- Lune guide — weaken and support magic nodes
Launch week note
Lunarium released July 29, 2026 on Steam and Epic Games Store. Lunarium Game Studio iterated combat feel throughout the demo era — dodge responsiveness, call-shot interrupts, and Focus economy all received developer patches based on Steam Community feedback. Watch the patch notes hub for post-launch balance changes that may adjust parry windows or Resonance generation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Which combat guide should I read first?
Start with Controls, then Combat, Parry & Dodge. Add Focus System and Resonance System before your first major boss.
Is parry more important than dodge in Lunarium?
Yes. Parry is the primary defensive tool. Dodge handles unblockables, ground slams, and multi-hit chains you cannot deflect.
Do I need Resonance for normal enemies?
Forest trash mobs die without it, but castle elites and all bosses benefit enormously from weaken and execution spends.
Where is the boss combat guide?
Boss-specific strategies live in the [Boss Guide](/guides/boss-guide/) and the [World & Walkthrough collection](/guides/world-walkthrough/).
